Sports and Activities-December 13 2010
If your child attends one of the following activities-PLEASE PAY INSTRUCTORS THIS WEEK!! Chess, Dance, Tennis, Circus Arts, Capoeira, Fencing and Karate. Pay directly to the instructor. Trimester 2 ends Friday 18 February. We have spaces in some activities-check the Jag Journal and board outside office. Come and see me or email if you would like to sign up. ASA Reminders: -Please encourage your child to commit for the duration of the activity. -Students need to report to the designated venue for the activity on time. -Students need to come prepared for their activity e.g.-swimming gear; tennis coaches have racquets for students etc -Some activities are full and there are spaces in others. Check lists. -Please pay fee to instructors on time. -Please inform me, the office or the instructor if you pull out of an activity. -The weather is hot-encourage the students in outside activities to bring a water bottle and cap/hat.
2. ISD Sports Teams Practices and Matches: HS Basketball Boys A-Tuesday 3:30pm, Wednesday 4:45pm, Thursday 7am-8am Boys B-Tuesday 3:30pm, Wednesday 7am-8am, Thursday 4:45pm-6pm Girls-Tuesday-4:45pm. Wednesday 3:30pm, Thursday 4:45pm We will be sending girls and boys teams to the WAISAL tournament in Ghana-February 24-27 2011. We will send home commitment forms after the winter break. We have 24 boys and 16 girls playing HS basketball.
MS Volleyball Boys and Girls-Wednesday and Thursday-3:30pm-4:45pm. We have 58 boys and girls playing volleyball.
Grade 3-12- Track and Field Boys and Girls-3:30pm-5pm. We have a group of 40 + students training with the T & F team. The team is preparing for the SIPS meet in March.
Grade 4 to 12 Swimming team boys and girls-Mr. Noah Balazs-Tuesday’s 14 Dec -7am-8am. It is great to see the students sign up for the trip to Ghana February 24-27. NB: The team will swim at Piscine Olympique after the winter break-Tuesdays and Thursdays-4pm-5pm. A bus will take the team and from the pool.
HS Softball boys and girls-Ms. Dominique Diaby-Friday-3:30pm-5pm. This team is preparing for the WAIST tournament in February.
MS Soccer Boys and Girls: We will send a MS boys and girls teams to the WAISAL tournament in Ouagadougou –January 27-30. Mr. Kellett sent commitment forms home with players last week and this need to be returned this week so we can proceed with flight bookings and organization.

REMINDER Dear Parents, Gaucher Soccer Academy starts officially its season next week October 4 and would like to inform you of the following: Schedule will be changed and will go longer than usual Instead of 3:20 pm to 4:10 pm which was the after school regular time, practices go as followed: ü Under 7: From 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm ü Under 10: From 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm ü Under 13: From 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm ü Under 18: From 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm Players from outside ISD Beginning next week, Gaucher Soccer Academy opens its door to kids from other local and international schools like Jean Mermoz and communities of Dakar as well. Membership fee and monthly fee These past two weeks we had 5 practices with ISD students and asked 7500 f cfa for payment. As for this month, payment will be: § 20.000 f cfa Membership fee (season) / if you haven’t paid it yet § 15.000 f cfa (Month) / (2 practices a week) § 15.000 f cfa (uniform) / if you wish to order one for your kid Please, make sure you pay your fees as soon as possible if it’s not done yet.
