2. ISD Sports Teams:


HS Basketball this week.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               The girls’ teams will practice-Tuesdays Jan 3-4:45pm-6pm, Wednesdays Jan 4-3:30pm-4:45pm and Thursdays-Jan 5- 3:30pm-4:45pm.

Boys: Tuesday-Jan 3- 3:30pm-4:45pm, Wednesdays-Jan 4-7am-8am and Thursdays-Jan 5 4:45pm-6pm


HS WAISAL Basketball Tournament-Dakar Senegal Thursday February 2 to Sunday February 5 2012

We have changed the date of the tournament from Feb 23-26 to Feb 2 -5 because the Senegalese election will be on Sunday February 26 and we did not want to host this tournament the same weekend.

We will need to house/host between 80 High School boys and girls for this tournament. We will be asking the HS student body to help with the hosting. I will send out hosting/housing letter to all HS parents.

I have attached the homestay registration form.

HS Softball team for WAIST tournament-Jan14-16

Please send your name to Nicky Mathy if you would like to play in the HS ISD WAIST softball tournament. Teachers will organize some practices after the vacation.

African Dance and Drum Classes

Anyone interested in African dance classes taught by a professional Guinean dancer. We'll be dancing to live drumming, led by Fode Bangoura (my husband) and master drummer. Classes will be on Tuesdays, at 4:30 under the tree next to the gym, and will cost 7,000 CFA per class.  Come on out and DANCE!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Djembe drum class of the year started on Thursdays.  We'll be under the tree next to the gym, starting at 4:20. If the rhythms move you, just come on over. Shelly Stein -Grade 2 teacher


Kids Rugby-Boys and Girls- 5pm-6:30pm @ ISD-Next Session Friday January 6th

Ladies and Gentlemen

The “Sien Fout Le Score” Rugby Club invites all students aged 5 years to 14 years interested in learning and playing the game of rugby to come along to a registration, information and playing session at ISD.

Trainings at P'TITS S'EN FOUT rugby school @ ISD 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at the International School of Dakar                                        


Veterans Men Rugby –Saturday 5pm-7pm @ ISD-Next session Saturday January 7


Dance Lessons at Club Olympic

Georgena Blair the dance teacher at ISD will be offering dance lessons at Club Olympic. See attachment.
