WAISAL HS Boys Basketball Tournament-Ghana-2011

The ISD Jaguar Boys Varsity Basketball team did very well at the WAISAL tournament in Accra, Ghana last weekend (February 24 – 27).  In the 8-team tournament the Jags finished 4th overall and as the 2ndplace WAISAL team (2 local Accra teams competed and took 1st and 3rd respectably).  In the semi-final game the Jaguars lost in the final minute to the Lincoln Community School.  ISD had solid victories against the British International School of Lagos and the International School of Abuja/Lincoln Community School combined team.  Solid and consistent performances by Patrick Toure, Nick Dillener, Michael Scanlon-Tanla, Stephan Holwerda, and Hassan Camara led the Jags.  Patrick Toure received All-Star team honors and earned the respect of many by his hard work and smart play.  Our team will only improve, as this year’s WAISAL team consisted of only freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.  With continued hard work and discipline, the Boys Basketball team will be a difficult one to beat next year!  Great work all year long Jags!
