Swimming Classes continue –See attachment of class schedules and what to bring for classes.

ASA- After School Activities Trimester III

ASA Trimester III ended today, Friday May 25.  Some students have not paid their fees to the instructors and I will send out friendly reminders.

 

ASA Trimester 3 Presentation-Monday June 4-3:45pm-4:45pm

The following groups will perform in the gym Monday June 4 at 3:45pm. Parents and friends are invited to come along and support these groups.

Dance-Kg-1, Gr 2 + 3 and Grade 4 to 6 , Circus Arts, Capoeira, Fencing and Karate

 

GAUCHER’S SOCCER ACADEMY.

The final session for Gauchers Soccer Academy will be Wednesday June 6

2. ISD Sports Teams:

ISD Sports Awards 2012-Thursday May 31-9:30-10:30

The Sports Awards ceremony will be in the gym on Thursday May 31 -9:30am-10:30am. Parents and friends are invited to attend this ceremony. Mr. Te Huki will contact parents of students who will receive an award. We will be presenting awards for the following: Grade 4/5, MS and HS-Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Swimming, Track and Field, HS Softball and Athlete of the Year for MS boy and girl and HS boy and girl.

 

MS Basketball Season

The finals were played on Thursday and the girls’ final went down to the wire with Mysterious Black eyes holding on to take a 10-9 victory over the Black Mambas. The boys’ final was won by the Celtics over the Bulls. Thanks to Mr. Ramsay, Mr. Gaucher and Mr. Omar for their skills as coaches and to all the players for committing to the season.

ISD MS Basketball tournament –Saturday June 2-9am-4pm. Our boys and girls teams will play in the tournament with teams from EAB School, Guediawaye Club and AMD Club. Schedule and information will be sent out next week. Mr. Gaucher will coach the girls and Mr. Ramsay the boys.

The WAISAL season has finished and it was great ISD sent teams to every event except the HS boys’ soccer team. We competed very well in all events.

Swimming Team-3rd, Many individual medal winners and Sportsmanship trophy

HS Basketball-Girls A-2nd, Boys A-2nd -Girls B Sportsmanship trophy  

MS Mathcounts-Team A-4th and Team B -6th. Individual winner-Sid-1st

HS Soccer-Girls -3rd and Sportsmanship trophy, Boys did not participate

African Dance and Drum Classes

Anyone interested in African dance classes taught by a professional Guinean dancer. We'll be dancing to live drumming, led by Fode Bangoura (my husband) and master drummer. Classes will be on Tuesdays, at 4:30 under the tree next to the gym, and will cost 7,000 CFA per class.  Come on out and DANCE!!                                                                                                                                           Djembe drum class of the year started on Thursdays.  We'll be under the tree next to the gym, starting at 4:20. If the rhythms move you, just come on over. Shelly Stein -Grade 2 teacher

Kids Rugby-Boys and Girls- Fridays -5pm-6:30pm @ ISD-Season ends Friday June 8

Ladies and Gentlemen

The “Sien Fout Le Score” Rugby Club invites all students aged 5 years to 14 years interested in learning and playing the game of rugby to come along to a registration, information and playing session at ISD.
