ASA- After School Activities Trimester 1

 

If your child has signed up for an activity with a fee, all students must pay next week. Pay directly to the instructors and they will give you a receipt. Thanks to all those who have paid.

 

Once again, please encourage your child to commit to the activity for the whole trimester.

 

ASA Trimester 1 ends Friday November 18.

MS WAISAL Soccer Tournament: We will be hosting the WAISAL MS Soccer boys and girls tournament at ISD-November 10-13. We will be asking our MS students to hosts visiting students. We will have teams travelling from, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria and Burkina Faso

 

Homestay Forms-WAISAL MS Soccer Tournament: BEDS NEEDED!

We have 65 boys and 19 girls coming to the tournament and we need to house the visiting players. The students in the MS soccer teams were given a form to complete for homestays for the WAISAL Tournament. All players are expected to host at least 2 students.

 

To date: I have beds for 19 girls and 36 boys. I will be asking all MS students to help with the hosting of our visiting students. We need 29 more beds for boys. We will make contact with MS/HS parents next week. I have attached the home stay form.

HS WAISAL Volleyball Tournament: HS volleyball girls and boys teams will travel to Accra, Ghana for their WAISAL tournament-Thursday November 17-20.

We have finalized flight details and the students travelling to Ghana need to return registration forms and pay for flights and visas by due date October 24. All forms should be with Mr. Te Huki and payment made to the office. See Info letter attached.

 

WAISAL Swim Meet: Grade 4 to 12 Swim team will travel to Lagos, Nigeria for their WAISAL tournament –Thursday December 1-4

The swim team is training very hard for their first swim meet on October 29th at Club Atlantique-8am-11am.The travelling swim team will receive information and final costs for their trip on Saturday at the swim meet. I have attached the information.

Scuba Diving/Snorkeling

See the attachment in September 16th newsletter if you are interested in this activity. I have attached a flyer if you would like to purchase snorkeling equipment.

 

African Dance and Drum Classes

Anyone interested in African dance classes taught by a professional Guinean dancer. We'll be dancing to live drumming, led by Fode Bangoura (my husband) and master drummer. Classes will be on Tuesdays, at 4:30 under the tree next to the gym, and will cost 7,000 CFA per class.  Come on out and DANCE!! Djembe drum class of the year started on Thursdays.  We'll be under the tree next to the gym, starting at 4:20. If the rhythms move you, just come on over. Shelly Stein -Grade 2 teacher

 

 

Kids Rugby-Boys and Girls- 5pm-6:30pm @ ISD

The “Sien Fout Le Score” Rugby Club invites all students aged 5 years to 14 years interested in learning and playing the game of rugby to come along to a registration, information and playing session at ISD.
