It has been a great start to the new year for athletics at ISD.  On Wednesday, the girls’ basketball team took on the powerhouse DUC.  In the B Game, the girls held the lead 7-6 at the half.  Lily scored 4 of the first half points, and the ladies showed great defense.

In the second half, the Lady Jags jumped out to a 12-8 lead, but unfortunately, could not hold on to it.  The final tally ended up 22-16.  Jennifer also played an excellent game at point adding 6 points.  Cosette helped with a 3-pointer from downtown.

The A game was full of excitement.  The Lady Jags started slow as they were down 23-7 at the half.  In the second half, the ladies roared back and tied the game 29-29 at the end of regulation.  Cydnee played well at point and many of the ladies contributed to the action.

In the end, DUC prevailed.  The final score was 33-29.

The Boys’ A Team took on a tough Club Atlantique team and defeated them 28-27.  Luc Rulinda led the way for the Jags with 10 points.  Other scorers were Malick 4, Nathaniel 3, Abdel 3, Mourtada 4, Hans 4.

The team looks really well-rounded as they prepare for WAISAL in 3 weeks.
