WAISAL and Sports

The boys and girls high school soccer team had an incredible experience in Abidjan.  Although the results were a little short, the players did an incredible job.

The girls ended up in 4th place.  They battled the first two days to end pool play in second place.  Miara played well at midfield and Miranda did an amazing job up front.  She scored three goals during pool play.  Elodie was solid in net allowing only 3 goals in two days.

During the knockout round, the girls lost to Lagos in double OT.  Then, the girls lost a heart-breaker to Abidjan in the 3rd place game.

The boys played excellent soccer throughout the tournament despite having some injuries.  The highlight of the tournament was the 3rd place game vs. Ouagadougou.

The captains of both teams decided in honor of WAISAL, the teams would do the entire warm-up together.  It showed the true meaning of what WAISAL sports is all about.  Thanks to all of our players for making this weekend special and honoring the game.

Middle School basketball took last weekend off but will be back in action this weekend.  The boys and girls are ramping up for WAISAL on April 28th and 29th in Accra, Ghana.

The SPORTS Banquet will be May 19th.  More details will be out shortly.
