December 2014 Board Meeting The ISD Board of Trustees held its last meeting of the calendar year on Monday, December 8. First look at the 2015-2016 ISD Budget The main focus of the meeting was a discussion on the first drafts of the 2015-2016 ISD budget. Director Dr Alan Knobloch presented two draft budget scenarios based on assumptions agreed upon at the October Board meeting. Board members reviewed and discussed the various options. The purpose of the first “reading” of the budget is for Board members to provide school administration and the Board Finance Committee with feedback and directions to continue fine tuning numbers and budget lines. The finalized budget proposal will be presented to the Board in January. 2016-2017 school Calendar Board members took a second look at the 2016-2017 whole school calendar. The calendar was adopted following this review. The 7 Nov Board news article in this Journal includes an overview of how the school calendar is set at ISD. ISD Board Governance Agreement The ISD Board Governance Agreement encompasses the principles, responsibilities, norms and procedures that all ISD Board members commit to abide by. Every year, at our annual retreat in August, Board Members collectively review and update the Governance Agreement. The Agreement is then formally amended and adopted at a regular Board meeting. On Monday, all Board members signed the Agreement, signifying our acceptance and agreement to conform to it. Please click HERE to read the 2014-2015 ISD Board Governance Agreement.
