 June Board meeting The ISD Board of Trustees held its last meeting of the 2014-2015 school year yesterday evening. The Board heard a presentation from director Dr Alan Knobloch on student performance at ISD. Among items discussed were the groundwork for a staff compensation plan, financial arrangements for the vacation period (to ensure the smooth conduct of summer renovation and maintenance works) and plans for the Board retreat in August. The meeting closed with remarks of appreciation as well as special thanks and best wishes to departing trustee Allyson Gardner. We would like to thank Allyson sincerely for her service to ISD. Since she was first elected to the Board in 2012, Allyson has been a very active trustee and a valuable member of our collegial team. She has chaired both the Buildings and Grounds and Policy committees. We wish Allyson and her family all the very best as they move on. Trustee Appointment To fill the vacancy left by Allyson Gardner, the ISD Board voted on Thursday to appoint David Peterson, parent with two children at ISD, as a trustee. David has had previous experience on the ISD Board, on which he served as a trustee and member of the Policy Committee, from January to April 2015. The Board would like to thank David for his continued service. Thank you! On behalf of the Board, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all parents who volunteered in the course of this year to contribute to the Board’s work. As we break for the summer, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, I wish all ISD students, families and staff a happy, relaxing and safe vacation. We congratulate and bid farewell to the graduating class of 2015. We also say goodbye to all students, families and staff who are leaving ISD.
