March 2015 Board Meeting Educational Program Update: Strategic Planning goals School director Dr. Alan Knobloch recapped the Strategic planning process which started last school year. He presented the highlights and achievements of the process to date, which include significant participation by the ISD community, passionate commitment of participants and the approval of revamped guiding statements. Present at the meeting to field questions from the Board were Strategic goal chairs Sandra Goldsborough (Secondary English and Social Studies Teacher), Pam Pelliccia (ES Counselor) and Gilles Meura (parent and trustee), as well as Strategic planning facilitator Benjamin Bynum. The Board will vote on the finalized Strategic goals at its April meeting. Financial Policy Amendment – 2nd reading and Adoption The Board had its second reading of proposed policy revisions and additions to ISD Financial policy. This second reading followed the public posting of the revised policy for ISD community review. With no outstanding questions raised on the policy, a motion was made, and passed, to adopt the revised policy. Audit report for fiscal year ending June 2014 ISD’s financial accounts are audited annually by an external auditor. Director Dr Knobloch outlined the findings of the Audit report for the school’s fiscal year ending June 2014, as well as the recommendations made to the school by the Auditor in its management letter. The Board voted to accept the Audit report and management letter. Parent Satisfaction Survey The Parent Satisfaction Survey will go out to ISD parents at the beginning of next week. lSD parents’ input is vital to improving performance and goal-setting at ISD.
