Sincere thanks to the 118 families and 51 students who responded to the School Satisfaction Survey which closed on March 31. We will be analyzing findings and results and these will be shared in the near future with the ISD community. We appreciate both the positive and constructive feedback received. A friendly reminder to mark your calendars to attend ISD's Annual General Meeting on April 26 at 6PM in the gym. The AGM includes a presentation by Wayne Rutherford, and reports from the Board of Trustees on annual goals. The Search Committee for the new Director (to be hired in summer 2012) will give an update. Trustee candidates will make speeches, followed by voting. Last call for candidates for the ISD Board of Trustees! Trustees work to advance ISD’s mission as effectively as possible and ensure the school’s well-being – both now and for future students. We focus on strategic issues and financial oversight and we work closely with the director and principals who are responsible for day-to-day administration of the school. The full Board meets once a month and our work is carried out through three committees: policy, finance and building and grounds. Trustees are parents or legal guardians of enrolled ISD students and commit to two years of service.
If you are interested, please submit a statement of intent and a short biographical sketch to Jodi Westrum, Board Secretary at isdboardsecretary@isd.sn. Jodi can also answer questions. Candidates must submit their documents by April 5, 2011.
