Openings for 2012-13

posted Mar 30, 2012, 7:18 AM by Marylene, MICHELET
The following positions will be open for ISD in August 2012 for the 2012-13 school year. Applications can be sent to the ISD office, and should include a resume in English, up to two reference letters if available, and contact information for referees who have supervised the applicants in the last five years. Applications will be accepted up to April 20, and interviews will follow. It is our aim to fill all of these positions by May 11.

Admissions Coordinator--Start Date: as early as possible after June 18.
After many years of dedicated service, ISD's Admissions Coordinator, Christine Ayuk-Takor is leaving ISD. Thus, we have an opening for an Admissions Coordinator. The Admissions Coordinator oversees all aspects of the Admissions Process, from updated ISD information on the website, parent inquiries, collecting files, scheduling interviews, leading tours, and chasing administrators who lose files. Organizational and people skills are essential, as is being a big fan of ISD. There will likely be a marketing component added to this position, including outreach to alumni, and working towards increasing ISD's visibility locally. Admissions Coordinator works closely with Principals and Office staff. Direct supervisor is the Business Manager.

Building Secretary--New Building--Start Date: August 1.
ISD seeks an experienced secretary/office manager for the new building. Office will be adjacent to that of the Upper School Principal, and position will also assist the Upper School Counselor, Curriculum and IB Coordinators, and to some extent, the ES Principal. Organizational and people skills essential, as is willingness to work with teachers, students and administrators in a busy but fun environment. Direct Supervisor will be the Business Manager/ Upper School Principal.

Part Time Teaching--MS/HS Language Arts--Start Date: August 4
We have a handful of classes that need teachers, and I am anticipating that ISD may hire two part-time teachers to cover the various classes. In total, we project 1 section of MS Language Arts and 3 sections of HS Language Arts (World Lit, Literary--genre--Studies, and Journalism). There are possible openings in HS Social Studies, and Yearbook. ISD seeks certified, experienced teachers for these part time positions. Lacking certified candidates, ISD will consider candidates with experience teaching HS or MS Language Arts classes in an American-curriculum environment. Classes meet on an every-other-day basis, and so schedule flexibility is critical. Successful candidates will be able to commit to the full school year, until mid-June; possess proficiency in use of classroom technology; and have excellent references from previous teaching jobs. Direct Supervisor will be the Upper School Principal.
