PARENT- TEACHER CONFERENCES

December 2 – 3

1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Dear Parents,

We have set aside the afternoons of Thursday and Friday, December 2-3, 2010, as our fall Parent/Teacher Conference days. This is an important opportunity for you to come to school and meet with your child's teachers to discuss your child's progress and efforts.  Education is a home-school partnership and we need parent support.  Parent attendance at conferences is expected.  

Conferences will be held on December 2 and 3 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  Classes will be dismissed at noon on both days.  Please arrange for your child to be picked up at 12:00.  No students should be at school after 12:00 and Shady Shack will not be open to students on those days.  

Early next week the school office will send home conference times to parents of students in grades PK3 to 5.  The schedule for appointments is tight.  Please be on time for your appointment.  If you are late, rather than overrun the allotted time of 20 minutes, make another appointment with the teacher if you desire additional time; we would be glad to schedule one for you.

Secondary School students and parents will be meeting with their teachers on one of these days (Dec. 2 or 3). We will not schedule appointments.  Instead, all grade 7 -12 conferences will be held in the gym, and Grade 6 homeroom conferences will be held in the classrooms.  In the gym, teachers will have a table set up, and students and parents will have the opportunity to meet with all teachers.  It is expected that all secondary parents will attend one of these days, and it is the expectation that secondary students will attend with their parents.  These conferences are an excellent opportunity for students, parents and teachers to sit down and have a face-to-face conversation about student progress.  Please plan on attending.

Special class teachers such as art, music, French, physical education, and computer will be available in the gym at this time. 

These meetings are not intended as the only contact you have with your child's teachers. Rather, the intention is to facilitate ongoing communication between home and school.
