15 ISD Seniors Accepted for Fall 2012 Admission (So Far!)

University acceptance letters continue to arrive, bringing the total to 15 Seniors already accepted by one or more colleges or universities.  It is still early in the year and many universities will not be sending out responses to applications until March, April, or even May or June for some Canadian and European universities.  Please look below for a list of the Seniors already accepted, along with a brief description of the college or university at which they have been offered admission.  Congratulations, Seniors!

Leslie Ayuk-Takor:  Leslie has been accepted at Drexel University and Randolph Macon College.  Leslie, a very active member of the senior class and president of the student council, is a native of Cameroon and has attended ISD since 2002.  She has applied to several other universities and will not make a decision on where to attend until other decisions have been received.  Drexel University is a private 5-year university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with 13,000 degree-seeking undergraduates.  Founded in 1891, Drexel is unique in that most undergrad degrees require up to 18 months work experience within the 5-year program.  The most popular majors at Drexel are Business & Marketing, Computer / Information Sciences, Engineering, and Health Sciences.  Randolph Macon College is a private 4-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church.  Located in Ashland, Virginia, RMC  has 1300 undergraduate students.  Founded in 1830, RMC requires all students to complete an internship, study abroad, or independent research project for graduation.  Among the most popular majors are the Social Sciences, History, Business & Marketing, Biology, and the Visual/Performing Arts.

Hassan Camara: 
Virginia Wesley College has offered Hassan admission for Fall 2012.  Hassan is a native of Mali and has attended ISD since 2005.  He will not make a decision on where to attend until later in the spring.  Virginia Wesleyan College is a private 4-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church.  Located in Norfolk, Virginia, VWC was founded in 1961 and currently has 1300 undergrad students.  Most popular majors include Business & Marketing, Communications & Journalism, Social Sciences, Psychology, and Education. 

Gil De Medeiros:  Gil has been offered admission at Oklahoma City University.  Gil is of French nationality and has attended ISD since 2007.  He is still awaiting decisions from other schools and will not make a decision until later in the spring.  Oklahoma City University is a private 4-year university and liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church.  Founded in 1904, OCU currently has 2300 undergrad students of whom almost 20% are international students.  The most popular majors on campus are Health Sciences, Business & Marketing, Liberal Arts, and Visual & Performing Arts. 


Karim Diagne:  The University of Northern British Columbia has offered Karim admission for fall 2012.  A native of Guinee-Bissau, Karim has attended ISD since 1997.  Awaiting decisions from other schools, Karim will decide later in the year where he will attend university.  UNBC was officially opened in 1994 by Queen Elizabeth II and graduated 6 students that year.  There are currently has 4200 students studying in over 60 program areas.  In 2010 UNBC was recognized (along with Harvard) as having the #1 Campus Sustainability Projects in North America


Solange Djossa:  Solange has been accepted for admission at Guelph University.  Solange is a native of Benin and has attended ISD since 2007.  She is awaiting decisions from other universities before choosing which one she will attend.  Established in 1964, U of G consists of seven colleges whose undergraduate and graduate programs span the natural and physical sciences, social sciences and humanities.  Currently 17,436 Undergraduate students attend Guelph including over 700 international students.


Madalena Ferreira:  Madalena has been offered admission at the American University of Rome.  A native of Portugal, Madalena has attended ISD since 2007.  Madalena has other applications pending and has not made a final decision on where she will attend university.  AUR is the oldest degree-granting American university in Rome, Italy. The school was founded in 1969, and has an undergraduate enrollment of 500 of whom 42% are international students. The language of instruction is English. 


Jewel Freeman: 
Virginia Union University is the first to offer Jewel admission for Fall 2012.  Jewel is a native of the USA and has attended ISD since 2009.  With other applications pending, Jewel will decide later in the spring which school to attend.  A private 4-year university and liberal arts college 100 miles from Washington DC, VUU currently has 1300 undergraduate students.  The most popular majors include Business & Marketing, Theological Studies, Education, Psychology, and the Social Sciences. 


Khoudia Gadio:  Khoudia has been accepted for admission by The American University of Paris.  Born in Columbus, Ohio, USA, Khoudia has been an ISD student since 2001.  She has a number of other applications pending and will wait for those decisions before choosing her university.  Centrally located in the seventh arrondissement of Paris, on the Left Bank, near the Eiffel Tower and the Seine, AUP has 750 undergraduate students.   AUP is unique in that virtually all undergrads are international students from 100 different countries.  Popular majors include Applied International Finance, Art History, History and Social Sciences, and International Business Administration. 


Ryan Hope:  Ryan has been offered admission at Arizona State University.  Ryan, a citizen of the USA, first enrolled at ISD in 2010.  Awaiting decisions from other schools, Ryan has not made a final choice of where he will attend university.  ASU is a public 4-year university in Tempe, Arizona.  With 52,000 undergraduate students including 1100 international students, ASU offers a wide variety of popular majors including Business & Marketing, Communications & Journalism, Education, Engineering, Social Sciences, and Psychology. 


Ali Kamaleddine:  Ali has two offers of admission, from The American University of Rome and John Cabot University, also in Rome.  A native of Lebanon, Ali has attended ISD since 2008.  AUR is currently his first choice of schools but he has not yet made a final decision.  AUR is the oldest degree-granting American university in Rome, Italy. The school was founded in 1969, and has an undergraduate enrollment of 500 of whom 42% are international students. The language of instruction is English.  John Cabot is a private 4-year university with a strong American liberal arts orientation and a largely international student population.  The 750 undergraduate students represent over 50 countries and study majors that include Business Administration, Economics, International Affairs, Art History, and Humanistic Studies.  Internships with prestigious private or international firms in Rome are common for undergraduates.


Thomas Legae:  Thomas has been accepted for admission at Richmond, The American International University in London.  Thomas is a native of South Africa and has attended ISD since 2010.  He has not yet made a firm decision on where he will attend university.  Richmond is a private 4-year university and liberal arts college with 1000 undergraduate students from over 120 countries.  With 2 London campuses, Richmond offers a variety of popular majors including Business & Marketing, Communications & Journalism, Computer / Information Sciences, Psychology, Social Sciences, and the Visual/Performing Arts. 


Davide Lodi:  Davide has been offered admission to Drexel University.  A native of Italy, Davide has attended ISD since 2003.  With other applications pending, Davide will not make a final decision until later in the spring.  Drexel University is a private 5-year university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with 13,000 degree-seeking undergraduates.  Founded in 1891, Drexel is unique in that most undergrad degrees require up to 18 months work experience within the 5-year program.  The most popular majors at Drexel are Business & Marketing, Computer / Information Sciences, Engineering, and Health Sciences. 


Anton Norgaard:  Anton has been accepted for admission by Crea Geneva.  Of French nationality, Anton was born in Ukraine.  He enrolled in ISD in 2010.  Crea Geneva is Anton's first choice and he has already decided that he will attend and study Creation of Brands.  Crea is a unique school in Switzerland which trains students to work in creative communication. Crea's goal is "to develop an expertise labeled "Swiss Made Creativity", forming young creatives who have acquired a comprehensive knowledge allowing them to own the foundations of art direction and copywriting, through contemporary technologies , because Digital is at the heart of advertising today."  Crea Geneva offers students the opportunity to study in the School of Communication and/or the School of Advertising. 


Michael Scanlon-Tanla:  Michael has been offered admission at Western Michigan University.  A native of the USA born in Bogota, Colombia, Michael has been an ISD students since 2010.  He has several other applications pending and will not decide until later in the year where he will attend.  WMU is a public 4-year university in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  With over 19,000 undergraduate students, including 600 international students, WMU offers a wide variety of undergrad majors.  Most popular majors include Biology, Business / Marketing, Engineering, Education, Health Sciences, Psychology, and Visual/Performing Arts. 


Birassi Sow:  Birassi has been accepted at the Paris School of Business.  A native of Senegal, Birassi has attended ISD since 2009.  Paris School of Business is his first choice of schools and he intends to accept their offer for Fall 2012 admission.  
Paris School of Business is the only School in Paris to offer a complete range of world class internationally Accredited Programs (BBA, MSc., MBA, DBA , Executive Programs), taught entirely in English, by an international Faculty.  The very international student body comes from over 70 countries around the world.  PSB offers the opportunity to go to work with internships or further their studies world-wide.
