Two Upcoming Coffee and Croissant Sessions with Parents of 9th and 11th Graders

Parents of 9th Grade students are invited to join us on Tuesday, October 30, at 8:30 a.m. in the Board Room of the new high school building.  The purpose of this session is to share information specific to parents of 9th grade students about High School and some important differences between Middle and High School.  We will discuss earning credits, ISD graduation requirements, and planning for college or university.  We will also share information on ISD’s candidacy for the International Baccalaureate Program.

Parents of 11th Grade students will have their opportunity on Wednesday, October 31, at 8:30 a.m., again in the Board Room of the new high school building.  The purpose of this session is to share information on how to help your son or daughter begin the search for the perfect College or University; how to use the internet to find and research colleges, universities, and scholarships; college “rankings”; and visiting campuses.  We will also discuss college admissions tests, such as ACT and SAT, and tests of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.).  Finally, we will share information on ISD’s candidacy for the International Baccalaureate Program.

Whether this is your first time as the parent of a 9th grader or high school Junior, or you are an experienced veteran, please join us if you can.  I look forward to seeing you then.

For parents who are unable to attend the meeting, I am always available to speak with you individually.  Feel free to contact me to make an appointment at your convenience.
