Juniors who plan to apply for college/university in the US or Canada next
year, you most likely need to take the SAT or ACT at least once this year.
You have only a couple of days left to apply for these tests (see below
for the deadlines). Please notice the deadline for the June ACT is
tomorrow!! Either of these tests is usually accepted by most US, and some Canadian, colleges and universities. I strongly recommend that all Juniors who might apply to university in the US or Canada take at least one of these tests this year. And please consider the possibility that things happen, plans change, and even students with no intention of applying in North American might change their minds and need one of these tests. (This has happened this year with more than one senior!) Check the websites of individual universities to see what their test requirements are and which tests they accept. Also check whether the SAT and/or ACT might allow you to waive TOEFL requirements for non-native English speakers. See the deadlines below if your son or daughter needs to take one of these tests: For the SAT on June 2 the registration deadline is May 8. Register at www.sat.collegeboard.org For the ACT on June 9 the registration deadline is May 4. Register at www.actstudent.org Please don't hesitate to contact Mr. Scoggin in the Guidance Office if you have questions or need more information: schoolcounselor@isd.sn |
