It is a great pleasure to extend our congratulations to ISD students who earned AP Scholar Awards in May!  ISD students have always done extremely well on the Advanced Placement Exams (AP Exams), administered in May each year, and 2011 was no different.  A total of twelve Juniors and Seniors earned one of the three AP Scholar Awards.  AP Courses are university-level courses created by The College Board and taught in high schools world-wide.  The Exams take place every May and measure student mastery of the specific standards required by The College Board.  Student scores range from 1 - 5, with scores of 3, 4, or 5 earning university credit at many colleges and universities in the United States.

Recognition as an AP Scholar is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.  Nine ISD students earned this award in 2011:
  • Akhokem Amin
  • Leslie Ayuk-Takor
  • Solange Djossa
  • Nithin Kumar
  • Faith Namsemon-N'Koa
  • Kadijah Ndoye
  • Valentin Psenner
  • Caroline Taylor
  • Graeme Woodsworth
Recognition as an AP Scholar with Honor is awarded to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.  Two ISD Seniors were granted this award:
  • Alex Papinutti
  • Celina Schelle
The highest recognition as an AP Scholar with Distinction is granted to those students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.  One Senior at ISD earned this top award in 2011:
  • Michael Jatta
The high school faculty and staff are very proud of these students and their achievements.  Please congratulate them!
