Dear Parents, We have almost reached the end of the year and it is hard to imagine that just a short school year ago, we were having the opening ceremony after a three day delay to start the school year. So much has happened in that time, familiar events such as World Cultural Month and new events such as the Art Salon. We have completed another successful trimester of intramurals, ASAs and WAISAL activities, not to mention our end of year concerts. I am pleased with the way staff members have come together to support each other. And I am extremely proud of our graduating students who will be moving on to such fine institutions of tertiary learning. Please check College Counsellor Sam Scoggin’s report for further information. It is very important that parents be aware of all the upcoming special events-Mr. Bell and Dr. Clark have outlined them in their reports. Please check for timings as there are a number of changes prior to the end of the year. The audit report and findings of Dr. Pam Ward are posted in the Community Information section of the Jag Journal and I encourage parents to read her full report-it has been posted in its entirety. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. I do have one major request for parents and that is to please not drop your children off before 8 a.m. and to please pick up Elementary students at 3:20 p.m. and Middle Schoolers by 5 p.m. As ASAs are now finished, other than socializing with peers for a short while at the end of the day, there is no reason for students to remain on campus. As we have no assigned supervision after 3:30 p.m at these times, it is imperative that parents and nannies supervise children until these times as well. Thank you for your cooperation. Don’t forget to encourage your children to drink lots of water as the humidity increases, Have a good weekend, Barb Gage
