ISD Identity Badges

We are in the middle of taking photos and issuing ISD Identity Badges to ISD parents and community members.  Please see the schedule posted in the Jaguar Journal to find the times available to you for this process.  There are opportunities for a second chance, so please look for these.  For any assistance, you may also contact Nichole Ngom (nichole@isd.sn), our receptionist who is taking the pictures.

I want to thank all who are already wearing their new ID badges.  They look sharp and will help increase the safety of children on campus as we move forward with this initiative.  I appreciate your support by getting your badges in this timely manner.

Water

Earlier this week there was an announcement of a water cut to the city that was to take place at the end of the week.  We soon learned that this was postponed.  I shared this information with you at the time.  What we do know is that sometime in the near future there will be another water cut to complete the repairs to the city’s supply source.  As I stated in my earlier message, the school has learned much from its experience a few months ago, so that we now have better procedures and processes that can help us manage water cuts.  An important addition has been the ability to circulate water distribution between buildings, thus allowing better conservation of overall use.  We also now have the capacity through an underground tank to receive emergency truckloads of water, which can then be pumped throughout the school tanks and system.  As the next repairs will likely be between 24 and 48 hours, we feel we should be able to manage these closures well.  During such cuts, we do encourage you to send refillable water bottles with your children to school, we will need to replenish potable water from our own large bottles.  Once we receive an announcement of a water cut, we will inform the ISD community.
