Strategic Planning

In five years, what should students be able to do?  What skills, talents and knowledge will they need to be leaders in the 21st century?  These questions are being examined by a group of parents, students, teachers, administrators and board members.  They have begun the process of dreaming what ISD should become in the next five years and setting goals to help us achieve that dream.  The process is called strategic planning

Last April 24, people formed the core planning team and began listing the school’s strengths and areas of improvement.  This fall, the group will re-examine the mission and vision of the school and then identify a number of possible goals for the school.  With input from the wider student, parent and teacher community, the core planning team will select three goals for the school.  These goals will be presented to the Board of Directors in October for their approval.

We are looking for two more parents to join the core planning team and help define the future of the school.  There will be three or four meetings.  Each will be on a Saturday and will run from 8:30 AM to approximately 3:00 PM.  The next meeting is Saturday, September 6.  If you are interested in joining the core planning team, please send me an email at alan@isd.sn.

We will communicate the core planning team’s progress throughout the year and periodically ask for your feedback.
