The Promise of a New School Year

The students are happy and engaged.  You can see it in their faces when they arrive in the morning, in the classrooms during the day, and on the playing fields in the afternoon.   School has begun in earnest.

The IB students in year two have begun their studies in anticipation of their exams in May, students are settled into their classes, and after-school activities have started.  The high school volleyball teams have a large number of students and have begun preparing for the WAISAL tournament at the end of October, which will be hosted at ISD.  Over 50 middle school students are playing middle school soccer.  The swim team has from elementary, middle and high school in the pool both before and after school. The high school students returned from their retreat yesterday and the middle school is getting ready to go on theirs.

Between their studies and their activities, ISD students are busy, which is a good thing.  Even with the presence of Ebola, the school year is off to a great start.
