Dear Parents,

We had a great Earth Day today, and our ideas are listed below for heading forward through the rest of the year; continue to have waste-free lunches, green-up our campus and recycle batteries. More below....

Notes:

1. Earth Day: We had a busy morning in class rotations from Pre-K to Gr 5, and we learned a lot about sustainability.

LET'S GROW AT ISD!!

ISD Earth Day 2016

Three things we'd like to continue are below:

2. Our Garden Space: Ms. Pam and Ms. Nyah will be heading up the continuing greening of the ISD garden space behind the Pre-K rooms. We'll all be planting flowers next week, and we have re-soiled the area to allow the plants to grow.

3. Our Pledges: Here is what we'll try to do in class to follow-up in a greener way for the rest of the year!

4. Our Waste Free Lunch Can Continue: We hope you might continue to send in waste-free lunches. here are some good sites for reference:

5. Recycling Our Batteries: Reduce, reuse and recycle!!

Ms. Axelle and a team of her Gr 5 French students are setting up a battery recycling station near the entrance. Please send in any used batteries through next week. Please DO NOT send in reusable batteries - we can't use those.

6. Yard Sale: Come if you can on Sunday morning. Reservations for tables is now closed, but you can come along anytime 10:00-12:00 to browse:

7. Booths & Parade on April 29: Volunteers to run country booths on the 29th April, please speak with Mr. Gaucher if you are interested (gaucherk@faculty.isd.sn)Also, if you are interested in being part of the parade of nations, or if your child would like to take part, please send back the form, or email Asiya at asiyam@faculty.isd.sn. We hope to see everyone dressed up that day, it's a lot of fun....

All parents are welcome to come, and Pre-K children can be there with their parents too, of course. We'll have the booths in the morning, and music, performances and the parade in the afternoon - more timings on the Final Day below:
