Dear Parents,

Thank you for attending all of the events over the last few weeks; parties, trips, concerts, ceremonies. I'd like to thank our PTO especially, as they ran another wonderful Santa Sale and we also appreciated their serving juice after our concerts last week - the apres-concert was much fun! I have many photo albums to share with you below, plus a special photo from ISD's past at the end.

The Continuing New-Look Website: I would like to recognize all the time and energy put in on the new web site by Rick Park and Phyllis Stinson, who this year have been tirelessly updating pages, and adding pictures. If you haven't noticed, a visit to each different school site page is headed by photos of ISD students - click around and you'll find a wonderful selection. Most of these are taken by Sara Monahan, our Pre-K 4 Teaching Assistant - also a trained photographer.

Monday is Day !: One note with the 6-day rotation; Monday will be Day 4. Please pack those sneakers for PE those parents of Pre 4, 4S, KGB, 1B & 5H kids!

Gr 2 Trip to Ngor: Last week Grade 2 went on a day trip to Ngor - visiting the beach, market and a local school. They also enjoyed a musical performance and Senegalese lunch:

3-5 Winter Concert: Ms. Gesland took some photos of last Friday's Concert:

Pre-K 3 & 4 Songs and Parties: Our Pre-school classes also entertained their parents - thanks Ms. Marje, Ms. Linda, Ms. Melinda and Ms. Joy!!:

New Building Opening Ceremony: ...and here are pictures from the Opening Ceremony - how DID Wayne cut the ribbon with those big scissors???:

Navy Musicians in Town!: Some more photos from last week's visit by navy musicians. They also had us up dancing!:

One Last Reflection: Finally, I was sifting through some old photos and I found this below that many of you will relate to. It was taken from my window in February 2011, and you can just spot former Director Wayne Rutherford and former Facilities Manager Colin Pryce in the center - we've come a long way!!:

Whether you'll be chilly or warm, we at ISD wish you safe and Happy Holidays!

Upcoming Events:

- December 15: Winter Break begins
- January 7: Classes resume

Kind regards,

Ian Clark
