Dear Parents, The way we have all returned in such a positive manner is very apparent in the classes, and the first of the year's PTO meetings is also on us next week. We see that our new students are right in the mix of play and soccer at recess, and KG B and 3K are readying themselves for next week's assemblies. More below.... Notes: 1. Samusocial: On Tuesday, 3C will get the ball rolling with our visits to Samusocial. We are very grateful for the opportunity to spend time there, and Grades 3-5 will be having weekly visits to the local organization that helps street children in Dakar. This will run through the rest of the year. At the visits, the ISD and Samusocial children are given many collaborative activities, and we try to use this as an opportunity to not only experience a different environment and interact with children with different lives to ours, but also to add some value to the work of the organization that will be left behind. We will also host three visits to ISD by the Samusocial children. If you would like to know more about the organization, just click the logo above. 2.Up to Date Email and Phone Check: We need to be sure that your emails and phone numbers are up to date on Focus: https://isd.focusschoolsoftware.com/focus/ Or, please drop in to check with Marciale in the front office when you can. We need to ensure all numbers are current for safety and communication, and this also relates to the Board Elections, where we will use e-voting this year. 3. Next Week's Assemblies: Next week Ms. Jasenka will be with KG B to lead the assembly on Thursday morning and Ms. Campbell's 3K class will be the center piece of our Friday assembly. You will be informed if your child will be receiving a CORE award. 4. King's Cake: Here are some photos from Ms. Linda's French Class celebrating "la galette des rois": 5.
