Dear Parents, As we settled back into our routines, we were lucky to have traveling troubadour Marcel Zaragoza perform for our K-3 French classes; his second visit to ISD. We also appreciate your coming early today so that we can have some Professional Development time and continue to refine student learning. More below... Notes: 1. ES Parent Workshop: This is from Pam Pelliccia: 2. Marcel Zaragoza: K-3 classes were entertained in French with story and song by Marcel Zaragoza. This is his second visit to ISD, and the children always have a lot of fun! 3. Contact Information Update: Please check that your contact information is up to date. You can do this through Emefa (emefa@isd.sn). It is important that we have your most up-to-date information. 4. Fish in Admin Building: 3C and 3D have been hard at work with Ms. Wolff in Art, and they have displayed some fishy creations in the Admin. Building. Do go and have a look if you have the time. 5. School Photographs: On the week of February 3, we will be running the sessions for the class photos and individual portraits. Proofs will be sent home the following week. This is just a head-up so you can book haircuts! 6. ASA Pick-up: Please be aware that the children need to be picked up and supervised following the after school activities. I have again had to request that certain drivers actually come onto campus to pick up children or be with them at the playground, and not wait outside in cars. Thank you for you support here. In addition, I should add that children are not permitted to climb up the top of the enclosed slide. This is the case during and after school. 7. 6-Day Rotation Times: If you need a copy, click HERE for the link to the 6-day rotation schedule. 8. Professional Development: We always appreciate your support with our occasional 1/2 day PD sessions. We have a lot going on over the next few days for the faculty. This afternoon and this evening, there are separate sessions with Google Training - hopefully taking us beyond the good old Google docs. There are also sessions of teams working on planning and reflection. Tomorrow, there are more faculty attending an all-day Google Training, and on Monday and Tuesday we have some consultants from MAP coming to visit to work with faculty. 9. GO ISD!!: If you have time this evening, come along and cheer for the Jaguars when we have a double-header from 7:00 against Dakar Academy. Both HS Varsity Boys and Girls will be playing. 10. 1G Publishing Party: Ms. Guillaume's class have been hard at work writing short pieces with sound effects! Here they are following their publishing party, where they performed to an audience of peers and parents. 11. Computer Lab Decorations: Ms. Chantal was busy with the children in her recent after school activity and encouraged them to be creative in designing decorative CDs. If you get a chance, pop into the ES Computer Lab to see the designs. ![]() Upcoming Events: - Jan. 20 & 21: MAP Training - Jan. 30: KGK Assembly - Jan. 31: 5S Assembly - Feb. 3: Class Photos Begin - Feb. 5: PTO Meeting - Feb. 6: Board Meeting - Feb. 10: MAP Testing Begins - Feb. 11: ES Parent Workshop III - Feb. 14: PD 1/2 Day - Feb. 17: President's Day & WAIST Ian Clark Ian Clark Ed.D.
