Dear Parents,

We are happy to announce the completion of the the introduction of the elementary school children to the conflict resolution program, Kelso's Choice. Click HERE for a short Kelso movie made by Ms. Laura with ISD ES kids, that all the children K-5 have seen at their "graduation" from the program!

Kelso's Choice is a program that helps students resolve their own small conflicts on the playground and in the classroom by selecting the most appropriate solution. Students are given a wheel of 9 solutions to choose from: go to another game, talk it out, share and take turns, ignore it, walk away, tell them to stop, apologize, make a deal and wait and cool off (see the poster below). It is our goal that ISD students become independent problem solvers. We'll also be having a Kelso-themed assembly at the beginning of the New Year.

We encourage students to not only use Kelso's choices at school but at home too. Try to use Kelso at your house!
